A LOOK AT THE COACHES
The Lady Knights knocked off Fox Valley Lutheran Academy 15-9, 15-0 in the opening round match of the Class A Regional at St. Edwards. Addie Sauber paced the Knights with 15 service points, 9 aces and 7 kills. Mandy Piscitelli added 8 service points, 9 assists and 3 aces.
Kaneland jumped out to an early 8-3 lead in Game 1 on Sauber's 3 consecutive aces. Sauber also had 6 aces in 12 straight serves during the clincher.
Looking ahead to top-seeded Hampshire, Assistant coach Chris Wice, who was covering for coach Cyndi Violett, who gave birth just two days before said, "If we Play, we'll give them a match. We also have an extra incentive in that Cyndi graduated from Hampshire and Sherm (Morgan) is Cyndi's old coach."
The Lady Knights 1997 volleyball season came to an abrupt end Thursday night to the hands of Hampshire. The Knights lost the first game 15-4 and where not able to rebound in the second, losing 15-9.
Mandy Piscitelli had 7 service points and Danelle MacAdam added 4. Deb Lang had 3 kills and Stacy Lettow provided 4 assist. Mary Richardson came up with 6 defensive digs.

Outlook: With 15 players, first-year coach Cyndi Violett says, "It's nice to see the numbers." The Lady Knights will also be taller on the front row than in past years. Kaneland will play several Class AA teams during its conference schedule, which could prove beneficial during the Class A regional.
Key returners: Seniors Mary Richardson, Karen Pool, Amy Dalton, Shelley Behren, Kristen Haidle and April App.
Top newcomers: Senior Michelle Smith, and juniors Addie Sauber, Deb Lang, Mandy Piscitelli, Stacy Lettow, Ashley Peterson, Julie Thomas, Lisa Dalton and Danielle MacAdam.
Head Coach Cyndi Violett (first year) says: "Right now our team goal is to finish on top - in the Conference. We're also hoping to take a regional."

Kaneland Varsity took third place, losing out to Jacobs and Stevenson. Mandy Piscitelli and Addie Sauber both made the all tournament team. Kaneland beat Rockford Jefferson 15-4, 15-5. Then split with St Edwards 15-13 and 14-16. Lost to Jacobs 2-15 and 5-15. Lost to Stevenson 11-15 and 6-15, then closed out the day beating Belvedere 15-2, 15-12.
Kaneland JV traveled to Guilford Saturday and won the second match in championship play for 3rd place (out of 8 teams) in the Tournament. In the match they Split with St Viator 6-11 and 11-1, then beat South Beloit 11-2 and 11-10, then beat Guilford 11-3 and 11-9 and finally lost to Barrington 1-15 and 4 -15. In the consolation match they beat St. Viator 15-3 and 15-4.
Addie Sauber had six solo blocks and Ashley Peterson two kills, while Stacy Lettow and Mandi Piscitelli had four service points each.
Ashley Peterson and Mandi Piscitelli had 7 service points each. Deb Lang had 5 Kills, Mandi Piscitelli had 8 assists and Stacy Lettow has 3 assists and 3 kills. Mary Richardson had 9 digs.
Ashley Peterson had 3 digs. Deb Lang and Addie Sauber had 2 Kills each. Stacy Lettow 6 service points and Mary Richardson had 5 service points plus 6 digs.
Mary Richardson had 8 service points and Danielle MacAdam had 6. April App had 7 Kills and Addie Sauber and Deb Lang had 4 each. Mandi Piscitelli had 9 assists and Stacy Lettow had 8 assists.
Stacy Lettow had 5 service points. Mandi Piscitelli had 10 assists. April App had 5 kills and Amy Dalton and Karen Pool had 4 kills each.

Ashley Peterson had 10 service points and Mandy Piscitelli has 6. Karen Pool had 13 Kills and Addie Sauder had 6. Mandi Piscitelli had 13 assist, while Ashley Peterson had 8 Digs and Mary Richardson had 6 digs.
Ashley Peterson had 8 service points and Stacy Lettow was close behind with 7. Addie Sauber had 5 kills and Mandi Piscitelli had 9 assists. Petereson and Mary Richardson had 9 digs each.
Stacy Lettow (9 service points, 6 assist) led the way for the Knights. Deb Lang (3 kills), Karen Pool (4 kills), Mandi Piscitelli (9 assists), Mary Richardson (5 digs) and Ashley Peterson (7 digs) helped seal the victory.

Kaneland came back from deficits of 12-5 and 14-8 in the third game to tie the score at 14-14. Ashley Peterson collected three service aces during the Knights 6-0 run. But Geneva scored the last two points for the win.
Addie Sauber collected 10 kills while Deb Lang and April App contributed fours kills apiece. Mandy Piscitelli had 10 service points, Peterson delivered 8 points and Stacy Lettow collected 7 points. Mary Richardson and Peterson served two aces apiece.
Kaneland was lead by Mandy Piscitelli with 8 service points and Danielle MacAdam with 7 points and 3 Defensive points. Kristen Haidle had 3 kills and Amy Dalton had 2. Stacy Lettow and Mandy Piscitelli had 3 assists each.
The Kaneland Knights finished .500 in own tourney at 2-2, which was good for third place in the Kaneland Spikefest. In match one, the Knights played Dwight and won 15-3, 15-8. Stacy Lettow had 11 service points and Mandy Piscitelli had 8 assist.
Then the Lady Knights played Hampshire and lost in an exciting game 18-16 and then lost the match 15-6. Stacy Lettow had 6 service points, Addie Sauber had 7 kills and Mandy Piscitelli had 7 assist.
In match three, Kaneland took on Sandwich. Lost game one 15-3, won game two 15-12, and lost three 15-9. Danielle MacAdam had 9 service points while Ashley Petersen had 8. Addie Sauber had 9 kills and Deb Lang had 6. Mandy Piscitelle had 8 assist and Ashley Peterson had 8 Def. points.
The in the final match to determine third place the Knights beat Dwight 15-2, 15-11. Mary Richardson and Stacy Richardson had 8 and 7 service points respectively.
