Outlook: With eight freshman and four sophomores joining the team, the Knights are counting on increased depth to aid in team's overall improvement.
Key returners: Seniors Kristin Isberg, Lindsay Wooton, Katie Simonic, Staci Testin, Kelly Ferdinand and Amber Pauly. Juniors Carrie Norris, Jennifer Hartmann, Sharon Minson, Vicki Mansfield, Sara Elliott, Lindsya Feltes and Lindsey Mack.
Last year: 3-10 overall and 1-5 in Conference.
Head Coach Cindy Miller (first year) says: "We're looking to increase our skill level and our win record and hopefully place better in the conference."
Single winners Sara Elliott 6-1 6-1 and Vicki Mansfield 7-5 6-3. Double winners Amada Beasley & Kristen Isberg 7-5 6-4. Coach Cindy Miller said, "I was very proud of the Lady Knights tonight. We have come a long way from the first day of practice. Junior Varsity lost 1-4.
Sara Elliott won the only Kaneland Singles match 6-2 6-1. In the Final Doubles match Shannon Minson and Andrea Ruetten won 7-6 6-4. "Tonight we lost our mental game", stated Coach Miller. "It was a disappointing loss, but I see lots of improvement each day".
Kaneland got shutout in the Singles matches. However, Emily Kresse lost a heart breaker that took 2 1/2 hours 1-6, 7-5 6-6 7-9. In the Doubles Shannon Minson and Andrea Ruetten won again, but it wasn't easy 3-6 6-3 7-5. Amanda beasley and Kristen Isberg won also 6-2 6-4. "Tonight we worked very hard after coming off 2 road trips", stated Coach Miller. "It was hard to loose our fist home match but we played extremely well.". JV lost 1-7, with Emily Kresse winning singles.
Coach Miller states "Geneva has got such a great team you can only hope your girls take a few games form them. The girls were very disappointed ,but they learned a lot."
Andrea Ruetten and Shannon Minson where the single Kaneland win in doubles. Coach Miller states "Andrea and Shannon did a very nice job tonight and saved our shut out". Season record 0-5. JV lost 3-4.

The Lady Knights presented first year Coach Cindy Miller with her first victory by edging Lisle 5-4. Kaneland split the four singles matches, then won 3 of 5 doubles matches. Earning singles wins were Emily Kresse (no. 3) 10-2 and Jessica Lightfoot (no. 4) 10-7.
Doubles winners where Lindsey Wooton and Lindsy Feltes 6-4, 6-4, Andrea Ruetten and Shannon Minson (no. 4) 10-1 and Nicole Reade and Lauren Hibbard (no.5)10-2
The Challenge was bracket play and Kaneland lost all it's matches.
Kaneland beat Yorkville 4-2, lost to Lemont 2-4 and lost to Sycamore 1-5. Sycamore won with 28 points, Lemont had 18, Kaneland 13, and Yorkville 12. Outstanding play by Rettten-Minson 2-1, Schmit-Kresse 2-1, Isberg-Beasley 2-1, and Mansfield-Simonic 1-2.
"The girls had a lot of fun and played much better than last weekend in the Warrior Challenge", stated coach Miller.

Jenna Schmit and Katie Simonic won their doubles match 6-4, 5-7, 6-0. Then Andrea Ruetten and Shannon Minson won their's in a squeaker 6-3, 3-6, 6-6, 7-5. "Outstanding performance by Vicki Mansfield playing 2 1/2 hours in her singles match only to lose. Plus, Jenna Schmit and Katie Simonic a new doubles team had an exciting win." said coach Miller.
Sycamore handed the Lady Knights their first shutout. However Coach Cindy Miller said "The girls played extremely well tonight. They said they had a lot of fun, but of course would like to have beat the Spartans in a few matches."
In the 8 team tournament Kaneland finished 6th with 5 points. Sara Elliott places 3rd win singles and Amanda Beasley and Kristen Isberg finished 5th in Doubles.
Andrea Ruetten and Shannon Minson won their double match 6-1 6-2. "Andrea and Shannon did a really nice job tonight." said coach Miller. "They played very aggressive and got the win for our team."
Morris was to much for the tired Lady Knights who had just played the day before. However, the JV team won 3-2. "Even though we haven't won, the girls are having fun and beginning to show improvement." add Miller.
Sara Elliott and Vicki Mansfield both won their single matches 6-3, 6-1 and 6-2 6-4 respectively. However only Shannon Minson and Andrea Ruetter were able to win their double match 6-3, 6-2, Resulting in a 4-3 win for the Foxes. "I thought we would have a conference win tonight," said coach Miller. "The girls played very well tonight but couldn't pull it off."
The Knights kicked off Homecoming week by recording their second victory of the season. In singles, Amber Pauly won 6-2, 6-7, 6-4, Sara Elliott won 6-2 & 6-1, and Vicki Mansfield 6-4 & 6-4. In Doubles Lindsay Wootton and Jeanna Schimit won 6-3 & 6-0, Lindsay Feltes and Amanda Beasley won 6-0 & 6-2, and Kristen Isberg and Katie Simonic won 6-4 & 7-5. JV won 5-1.
Amber Pauly, Jessica Lightfoot, and Sara Elliot represented Kaneland singles. Each lost in the first round. In Doubles Kaneland presented Wootton/Schmit, Feltes/Beasley, Isberg/Simonic, and Kresse/Minson. All but Emily Kresse and Shannon Minson lost in the first round.
Kresse/Minson beat Lemont 6-4, 6-4 but lost the second round to Geneva 7-6, 6-1. However they went on to take third place in the 4th doubles set by beating Sycamore 7-6, 2-6, 6-1.
In Kaneland's final regular season match, the Lady Knights where only able to muster a singles win thanks to Emily Kresse who won 8-1. "For a very cold night all the girl's played well," commented coach Miller.
Kaneland was shutout in the IHSA sectional meet.
