May 20, 2000Kaneland Lady Knight Soccer came to an end against the St. Charles Saints Saturday morning. This was a second round sectional game. The Knights finished at 8-12-3 for the season. Nice job!
KANELAND 1 ADDISON TRAIL 0
May 17, 2000Kaneland won their regional quarter final against Addison Trail by a 1-0 margin. Kaneland outshot their opponents 28 to 18. The Knights' net was protected by Sarah Conley. Robin Soto scored the winning goal. Strong defense play along with an aggressive offense were keys to the win.
Kaneland advances to match up with Saint Charles on Saturday in St. Charles at 11:00 a.m.
KANELAND 3 SYCAMORE 6
May 16, 2000The Knights, tied 2-2 at the half, could not score the go-ahead goal to beat Sycamore. Strong play by both teams with break-away goals making the difference.

May 11, 2000The speed of the Hinckley forwards played havoc with the Lady Knights' defensive units. Kaneland was unable to score against a strong Hinckley team.

May 10, 2000The Knights played Rosary on April 18th with the same result as this game, a 1-1 tie. Kaneland's goal was scored on an assist from Becky Kasper to Robin Soto and scored by Nikki Heyob.
Goalkeepers on both sides kept very busy as these two tough offensive teams collided. Kaneland's keepers were Becky Kasper and Paige Donahoe.

May 6, 2000Donw 2-0 in the first half, Becky Kasper got a hard midfield shot past Burlington Central. Both teams played strong midfields during the entire game.
KANELAND 4 SYCAMORE 5
May 4, 2000Kaneland came out with the early score with 8 minutes into the game. The rest of the first half was all Spartan attack with a 5-1 half-time lead. Ball movement and control brought the Knights back with a strong offensive rebound, almost pulling out a tie. Great game!
KANELAND 4 PLAINFIELD 0
May 3, 2000Kaneland JV matched up against an undefeated Plainfield freshman team. Aggressive forward play with a strong defense put the Knights on top. Nikki Heyob, Fernanda Negreiros, Carrie Eickhoff, and Sarah Conley scored goals for the Lady Knights.

May 2, 2000The Knights beat Minooka with strong offensive playing by the team. The score was 2-1 at the half with Negreiros and Heyob scoring for Kaneland. The 3rd goal was scored by Nikki Heyob off an assist by Robin Soto.

April 29, 2000Kaneland came back to score two goals in the second half. Nikki Heyob and Fernanda Niegreiros scored goals for the Knights. Kaneland finished 5th in the DeKalb Tournament winning one game, losing one game and tieing one game. Great job Knights!

April 25, 2000Kaneland played their best game of the season against a tough Lemont varsity team. The Knights outshot their opponents. Aggressive ball play was a key factor.
The Lemont second score came from a well-placed penalty kick. Kanelands goal was kicked in by Nikki Heyob.

April 22, 2000Burlington Central visited Kaneland H.S. on Saturday morning. Strong break-away action did in the Lady Knights by a score of 7-1. Nikki Heyob scored the lone Knights goal.

April 17, 2000Kaneland turned on the offense Monday afternoon scoring all 7 goals in the second half against visiting Ridgewood. Jennifer Berringer and Robin Soto each scored 2 goals, Carrie Eickhoff, Jennifer Harner and Sarah Conley added a goal a piece padding Kaneland's lead. Strong support from the midfield and aggressive play by the forwards were key to the victory.

April 15, 2000 (Game #4)Nikki Heyob score the only Kaneland goal against a tough match-up with Harlem High School. The Knights finished 8th overall in the tournament.

April 15, 2000 (Game #3)Strong work from Kaneland forwards was no match for the West Aurora defense. Evenly balanced scoring broke down the Kaneland defense as West Aurora advanced in tournament action. Kaneland's lone goal was kicked in by Fernanda Negreiros.

April 14, 2000 (Game #1 of Elgin Tournament)Strong winds and a very strong start led to a 6-0 half. The Lady Knights only gave up 2 goals in the second half after a wind change and new defensive strategy.
KANELAND 0 DUNDEE-CROWN Varsity 2
April 12, 2000In the Elgin-Larkin Invitational, game 1 saw Kaneland matched up against Dundee-Crown's Varsity Team. Dundee scored at the 13 and 29 mark in the first half. Kaneland goalkeepers Becky Kasper and Sarah Conley did a great job defending the net.
The Invitational will continue on Friday with the Knights playing Lake Park in Elgin.

April 4, 2000Kaneland hosted visiting Morris Tuesday afternoon. The Knights had a 3-1 lead at the half. Becky Kasper scored 3 times on the visiting team with additional scores by Nikki Heyob and Fernanda Negreiros.

March 30, 2000The Lady Knights scored early against visiting Aurora Christian. Robin Soto had 3 goals with Niki Heyob and Becky Kasper finishing out the half at 5-0.
The second half saw lin-up changes with scores from defensive players Jessie Korth, Jenna Mehr, Paige Donahoe, and Sarah Conley.

March 27, 2000The Knights scored early with a distance shot by Jema Shooter. Robin Soto gets the assist for another score by forward Carrie Eickhoff.
The second half saw two unassisted scores by mid-fielder Becky Kasper.
