Kaneland Football is becoming a year around sport

The 1998 Kaneland football team begun summer activities with 7 on 7 scrimmages before June could be removed from the calendar They performed at the Fox Valley football camp at East Aurora High School.

The Knights looked good, although rusty at times, taking on East Aurora, ACC, Aurora Christian, Marmion Academy and Waubonsee Valley.

The most exciting development was Coach Joe Thorgesen's new pass play that very well may send chills down the spine of defensive coordinators across the state, when he unleashed speed, speed and more speed sending out P.J. Fleck, Kyle Schrader, Shaun Wenz, and Billy McKeown all out on fly patterns.

If quarterback Eric Delaney can deliver on target there could be a whole lot of fireworks at Peterson field this fall.
