It was a pleasure viewing the Kaneland football web site. I am a 1983 graduate of Hall and held season tickets for the past 12 years. I relocated to Massachusetts earlier this year and missed all but the first 2 games of the year. I didn't hold much hope for the season after seeing those games. It turns out that I was very wrong.

I really miss the Friday nights at Nesti Stadium. Your description of the stadium and pictures sent chills up my spine. I must also congratulate you on your coverage and account of the game this past Saturday. It was a better article than I have read in the local Spring Valley paper in quite some time.

Thank you for bringing a little bit of home to me here on the East Coast and GOOD LUCK to the Knights this Friday in Normal.

Larry Bickett

Congratulations, once again. You guys are doing a great job of representing the SPC. Looks like your well on your way to title #2 (yes equaling Morris' 2 championships, but we have still been there 3 more times than Kaneland).

Don't know anything about your opponent, but I seriously doubt they have a real chance at all. After the first round, there were some great games, even this past Saturdays games. Still don't agree with how the IHSA seeds the teams, but might be the best job they did this year.

Also congratulations to Fleck and Delaney on making All-State. A great accomplishment. I'll do my best this week on the Tribune message board to praise Kaneland and get people to recognize you guys. NOBODY mentions you guys at all. I am sure you are used to that though. Kaneland has been dismissed all year.

Thats ok, we all know better and about 9:30 Friday night the Knight will be heading home with trophy #2.

.......Anyway a lot of Skins are cheering for Kaneland.

GOOD LUCK!!!!
John

Congrats to (everyone). You must be busting at the seams with pride. I didn't get to go to the game (had to take my son to soccer practice) but listened to it on the radio.

Thanks for all the pictures in this weekends article. I wanted a chance to see that stadium.

Good Luck to your son this Friday.

I'm from Nashville (NCHS '97) and I wish you knights the best of luck.

(who wished Nashville was playing Spring Valley Hall, but we'll worry about dethroning the 3A champs instead)

Hard to say about the best ever..

but in my opinion, as good as any ever... Pontiac had a powerhouse team in 93...them and you are the best in the 90s hands down...

But there have been some awefully good teams before then...the ones that come to mind are the 85, 85 and 87 Mac teams...they were just as good offensivly and had a awesome D..very physical...and going back a little further when there was only 5 classes, there were teams like the 1980 Morris team and then of course the Geneseo teams of the mid 70's..and Belleville Althoff had some good ones in the late 80's...

What I am excited to see is if Kaneland will be a school with 2 great football teams...or if it will become a school with a football tradition..What do you think?

Congrats on the well deserved win. A few differend bounces of the ball and we would have seen a lot closer score and MAYBE a different outcome.

It was a shame that one of us had to loose. Oh yea, great write up on the game. See ya in the play offs next year if we are both lucky.

Congratulations to the Knights. Kaneland has an excellent team and certainly one of the best I have seen in 3A history. I won't go as far as some of my fellow Illinois Vallians, who defenitely have a tendency to exaggerate, by saying it's the BEST team.

People in this area like to talk a big game and have short memories. This, combined with no knowledge of the game outside of what they hear at the bars or read in the papers, combines to produce ridiculous statements and BEHAVIOR. I'm not trying to rain on the Knights parade, but I just want to get some things out in the open since, assuming you'll stay in 3A, we will be rivals.

The great thing about Hall fans is their fighting spirit. Mr. Wenz aknowleded this in his very flattering description of Hall football. I guess you could call it fanatiscism. AN ALL FOR THE WHOLE, UNSELFISH, ATTITUDE. Attitude is the strength of Red Devil football. The attitude of this town is why all teams (Kaneland being no exception) will lose more games than they win against the Red Devils.

NO ONE in that stadium wanted Hall to win more than I did. I think you sense my bitterness. If Hall would have won today it almost would have certainly would have meant D.J. Glynn would have eclipsed the Hall single season rushing record. This is probably the most coveted school record.

The holder of this record is very proud of it.........I hold this record.

Sincerely,
Jason Bland

Clearly the better team won.

Good luck in the Championship game. You have to admit, we gave you a hell of a good game.

Congratulations on beating our mighty Hall Red Devils. I wish all Kaneland fans, coaches, and players good luck at the State Championship game.

I will be a student at Hall next year and I am hoping that we will be able to meet your fine group of athletes again. I would like to compliment all fans, coaches, and athletes on their excellent sportsmanship. It is the best sportsmanship that any Hall team has seen in a long time.

I hope that your son and all of his teamates had an excellent time at Hall.

Even though I'm dissapointed in the end result, I have to say that the better team came away with the win. We felt pretty good at half but the mistakes in the third quarter killed us, not to mention some great play by Kaneland.

I gotta say that your fans are a class act and so is the entire Kaneland team and coaching staff. P.J. has some great hands, the best I'v seen this year. Your Q.B., Delaney is very good as well. The only one better that I saw this year plays for a pretty good team also, Wheaton Warranville South.

All things considered I have to say whoever is up next, better be getting a runner up banner ready to hang at thier field. I just can't see either Macomb or Nashville having much of a chance.

I was happy that you guys got a chance to see D.J. get out and run a bit. Tell everyone good luck on completing the quest.

Mark
