The Hall Red Devils Vs the Kaneland Knights

KICKOFF In the excess of 5,000 people are expected at Nesti Stadium by the 1:00 kickoff time Saturday. It can't get much better than this as the Kaneland Knights are the reigning Class 3A champions and the Spring Valley Hall are the 1995 Class 3A champs. Kaneland comes in with a 26 game winning streak and Hall is working on a 8 game streak of it's own.

Pregame Report

12:50 The weather is fantastic it's 45 degrees and sunny with a slight crosswind, a definite advantage for Kaneland's passing game. At 10 minutes before game time the stands are full and there are still lines of people waiting at the gates. People are starting to line up in the endzone area. Spring Valley Hall will receive the kick off.

Start of the First Half

End of First Half
On the kick off, Kaneland started at their own 28 yard line. A pass to Wenz for 7, followed by a pass to Schrader for 24, then a pass to Fleck for 21 and another to Fleck for 11 and a touchdown with 34.7 sec left in half. Kaneland missed the extra point attempt. End of the first half, and everyone rests their vocal cords for the cheering coming up in the second half.

Start of the Second Half

Quarter timer 14:00 22 seconds into 2nd half Kaneland scores a touchdown on 59 yd pass to PJ Fleck. It was a fantastic run after scoping the ball off the ground. Kaneland went for a 2 point conversion and PJ caught the ball.

Quarter timer 5:56 Hall punted from their own 23. Kaneland had the ball at 35 yd line, thanks to 15 yd punt return by Fleck. Kyle Schrader caught a screen pass and made a fantastic run for 31 yards to the 1 yd line. A Quaterback sneak play went in for the touchdown. 34 21. Kaneland missed the extra point. On the ensuing kick off, kaneland recovered the kick off at 23 yd line, by #37 Mike Behrens .

Quarter timer 5:23 Kyle Schrader ran for 3, then 9, then 6, and then 1, to the 6 yd line then on 4th and 5 Kyle Schrader caught a swing pass for a touchdown. Kaneland went for the 2 pt conversion but it was no good.

Quarter timer End of third Hall recieved the ball, lost 7 yds then was forced to punt. Kaneland received at the their own 40 yd line. Kaneland has the ball at the Hall 35 with 3rd and 2, at the end of the 3rd qtr. Hall has a minus 20 yds for offense in the 3rd qtr.

Start of 4th Qtr

Quarter timer 14:00 On the First play of the 4th qtr Kaneland gets a 1st down at the Hall 31 yd line.

Quarter timer 6:51 On the Third play of the quarter Delaney threw an interception at the Hall 20 yd line. Hall drove to the 8 yd line where they had a 4th and 1 yd to go. Hall went for it and Bryan Staker and Ryan Schrader tackled the Quarterback 1.5 ft short of a first down. With 6:51 left to go in the quarter Kaneland has the ball at their own 7 yd line.
