Game twelve in the Quest.

The Evergreen Park Mustangs Vs the Kaneland Knights

KICKOFF is scheduled for 6:00. A huge turnout is expected from Kaneland Knights fans as this will be the last time they will be able to see the Knights on their own turf. More importantly, the Knights will be looking to move within one game of the State Championships in Normal and extend their 25 game winning streak.

The home stands are full, it's 3 minutes to game time.

Kaneland won the toss, defered the second half and EP elected to receive the kick. Kaneland will be moving from west to east.

Start of the First Half

EP received the ball, drove all the way down to the kaneland 35 yd line. EP fumbled the ball, PJ Fleck recovered and ran to the EP 20 yd line. The Knights then fumbled at the 3 yd. line and the Mustangs recovered.

Three plays then a punt by EP. Kaneland started at the Mustang 35 yd line. On a 4th and 2 play from the 17th, Billy McKeown caught a Delaney pass in the endzone for a touch down.

7 - 0 with 3 min 17 sec left in the first qtr.

EP received the kickoff at the 20 yd line, and moved the ball down to the Kaneland 5yd line. Where they had the ball at 1st and goal at the end of the 1st qtr.

3rd down from the 5 yd line, the Mustangs scored when #89 caught a pass in the end zone. Kaneland blocked the extra point attempt.

On the Kick off Kaneland was able to march to their own 46 yd line but 2 holding penalties forced them into a 3rd and 27 where Delaney's pass was intercepted by #11 at the Kandland 48.

EP moved down to the Kaneland 31 yd line. On 4th and 4 EP went for a first down but didn't make it. Shawn Fuller hit the quarterback while passing.

Both teams went 3 downs then punt. Kaneland eventully drove down to the Mustang 9 yd line, but Kyle Schrader fumbled and EP recovered. The Mustangs then drove down to the kaneland 42, but had to punt. On the first play Delaney was intercepted at the Mustang 47, to end the first half .

Half Time, summary.
The Evergreen Park defense is doing a great job stopping the Knights, but the Knights are also stopping themselves with 2 fumbles and 2 interceptions for a total of 4 turnovers. The Knights defense has come up big time after time.

Start of the Second Half

Kaneland received the second half kickoff at the 30 yd line then scored a touchdown, after 6 plays, on a 20 yd run by Kyle Schrader. Extra point was good.

End of the third quarter.

Kaneland punts to the 8 yd line where Evergreen Park will start the 4th quarter.

Kaneland held the Mustangs and forced EP to punt. Kaneland has taken over at their own 36 yd line with 8 min to play.

Kaneland was forced to punt. EP fumbled the ball, Mike Merfeld recovered the ball at the Mustang 23 yd line. 3 plays later PJ Fleck caught a pass for a touchdown. The Extra Point was good.

With 5 minutes left in the game the Knights are ahead 21 to 6.

On EP's first play after the Kickoff, a pass was intercepted by Ryan Schrader at the Mustang 45. Kaneland went for 3 downs then punted.

EP then moved down to the Kaneland 30 yd line. On 4th and 2 EP made 2 yds and required a measurement, they were 2 inches short. Kaneland took over with 2 min and 13 sec. left in the game.

Kaneland ran out the clock and the game is over.
