PREVIEW OF THE WESTMONT SENTINELS

Well, after last weeks win against Herscher there is bound to be a Kaneland letdown. That's normal. And if ever there was a good time for a letdown it would be against a team that is struggling.

Fortunately for the Knights they will travel to Westmont to face that team - the Westmont Sentinels. As a matter of fact the Sentinels have won only one game all year and have been shutout by SPC White conference teams.

Shutout is the right word. The overmatched and undermanned (they normally dress about 20 players) sentinels have scored only three touchdown in their previous six conference games.

With so few players, most starters go both ways and as the game wears on they get worn down. For example, against Yorkville they held the Foxes to a scoreless first quarter and a half, but the Sentinels eventually gave way to a faster and fresher Red and white team and lost 42-0.

So look for the Knights' reserves to play a big role in this one as the starters will probably be checking out the duck pond as halftime approaches.
