Kaneland finishes season undefeated
for the first time ever
Kaneland made last slot in class 3A!! 3A is divided into two brackets with
Kaneland in the Northern bracket as a number 2 seed.
The Knights ranked 1st in class 3A by UPI . And the Knights
ended up ranked 3rd in 3A by the Associated Press. The Knights ended up ranked
6th in 4A by the Associated Press.
Kaneland Wins First Playoff Game
38-14
Lisle's Chris McCullough scored a 80 yard
touchdown on the first play from scrimmage to scare the Knights. It was only
the second time all season the Knights had been behind. On the next play Lisle
intercepted a Kaneland pass and the crowd was a buzz wondering what had happen
to it's football team.
But the Knights worked their way back into the game, with touchdowns by
Ryan West and P.J. Fleck. Matt Gladd added a 27 yard field goal and Kaneland had
a 17-7 half time lead.
In the third quarter McCullough scored another long run (50 yards). But on
the kick off Kyle Schrader answered with a 85 yard return for a Kaneland TD.
The Knights scored two other touchdowns by Ryan West and Shaun Wenz to add to
the margin.
McCullough who was a thorn in the Knights side all night ended up with 182
yards on 20 carries.
