"This is a team who had gone 16-2 in the last two years, and they have a lot of talent," said Varsity coach Joe Thorgesen.
The 1995 freshmen team set a standard of excellence in the newly formed Suburban Prairie Conference, finishing the season with a perfect 9-0 record, making themselves the first Frosh champions of the SPC.
This is the first time in more than 11 years that the freshmen finished the season undefeated, according to Head Coach Barney Callaghan. The Frosh team annihilated the competition such games as Wauconda (42-7), Evergreeen Park (47-0), and Westmont (48-0). The Knights also defeated Lemont, Ridgewood, Elmwood Park, Morris, Yorkville and Aurora Central.
"Two areas the team did well in were the improvement in the efficiency of the offense and the dedication of the defense," said assistant coach Dennis Brown.
