Kaneland High School is happy to welcome 3 new coaches to our staff this year and we are pleased to welcome back Erik Lentz who has worked in the Lady Knight's program for 3 years.
Dennis Hansen comes to Kaneland from Coal City where he has extensive experience in basketball and softball. He complements our teaching staff by bringing his expertise in physical education and drivers education. Coach Hansen helped out with the summer recreation program and was able to meet the athletes and started to incorporate his system of play. He is excited about his team and is looking forward to working with coaching staff. Coach Hansen and his wife live in the Plainfield area.
Coach Lentz returns to the Lady Knight program for the 4th season. He brings his love for the game and his enthusiasm for basketball to his position as the coach of the sophomore team. Coach Lentz is seen in the halls almost daily as he serves as a substitute teacher in the Kaneland District. Coach Lentz and his wife live in Plano.
Cindy Miller returns to Kaneland where she completed her student teaching . For several years Coach Miller has taught and coached at Sycamore High School. She comes to Kaneland to teach physical education and serve as the head tennis coach and will serve as the assistant varsity coach. Her organizational skills and her strong work ethic will help the Lady Knights achieve their goals. Coach Miller, her husband and 2 sons live in Maple Park.
Coach Brei returns to Kaneland after a 16 year absence. In 1982 she was a guard on our IHSA State Championship team. She has always followed the Lady Knights and is very interested in giving back to the program that was so important to her. She will take over the freshmen basketball teams and hopes to share her knowledge, her understanding of what it takes to be successful and her love for the game with her athletes. Coach Brei and her husband live in Cortland.
